Course Overview


The SSSTS course serves as a fundamental phase in health and safety education for site supervisors. It is designed to develop a strong, practical understanding of safety issues in the construction environment, covering a wide range of topics including occupational health and site-specific challenges.

Course Content and CurriculumParticipants will learn about:

  • Their legal responsibilities in health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues.
  • The Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Techniques for conducting effective toolbox talks.
  • Management of occupational health.
  • Principles of behavioural safety.
  • Handling various site challenges supervisors face daily.

This is facilitated by experienced instructors, aiming to enhance participants' understanding and skills for supervisory roles on construction sites.

The course package includes all necessary materials, registration, and the issuance of a certificate upon completion.

‍The SSSTS course is conducted over a duration of 2 days.

Teaching and Assessment

‍The SSSTS Course is delivered using an interactive teaching approach. This includes:

  • Facilitated classroom discussions.
  • Case study analysis.
  • Collaborative team activities.
  • Individual and group presentations.Participants might be required to complete some assignments outside of the training sessions.

Certification

‍Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus (SSSTS) certificate. This certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed.

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must have a proficient level of English in reading, writing, and comprehension.
  • They should be currently working in the construction industry, ideally in a supervisory role or preparing to advance to such a position.
  • If a candidate needs to retake the test, it must be done within 90 days of the initial course date, and additional fees may apply.
  • Valid identification, such as a passport or driving licence, must be presented on the first day of the course.

Fantastic EFAW course

I attended a EFAW course run by Bob Adam and it was fantastic. Bob brought the material to life with lots of personal examples and stories from his own experiences that really helped me learn the information. The videos were great, especially the one showing how to do CPR correctly.

2391 Inspection and Testing

Completed the C&G 2391-52 Level 3 Inspection and Testing Course today. The course was taken by Lee, who has a real wealth of knowledge and experience. It’s renowned for being a difficult course, but testament to Lee, all 6 guys passed and the week flew in. Highly recommend.
